Pirgos

In the beautiful area of the Pirgos village, there is a comfortable, country building that promises you a journey back in time. A 250sq. m. building whose history begins in 1885 and was completely renovated keeping its traditional architecture intact. Perfect for everyone that is looking for something different, something simple and something pure. Another concept of luxury close to nature. A philosophy of life, where the past, the present and the future coexist harmoniously. This is Pirgos!

A century and a half ago Ondathaki was a residence capable of meeting the multifaceted needs of a family, with the characteristic large ‘onda’, a Turkish word meaning ‘bedroom’. The ‘store’ (storage of oil, wine, fruit and vegetables), the ‘factory’ (processing of products), the stable, the stone mills and the old wine press are now the new ‘Pirgos’ separated in 3 residences that offer beauty and tranquility. And right next to the private pool stands proudly the iconic berry tree. A shelter of endless peace under the Cretan sun.

The building is located 18km from the city of Chania, about 35km from the airport and you will find it surrounded by olive groves, flowers and plants, an endless sea view and an incredible sunset from all the roofs of the house as night falls.

At a distance of 1-2km there are villages with super markets, restaurants, cafes, traditional Cretan food, leisure and entertainment areas, a medical center and pharmacies. You can visit the Botanical Park, try mini golf, horse riding, tennis, take a cruise or try water sports and join events dedicated to the full moon as well as traditional festivals that highlight Cretan culture.

Crete is a blessed island that offers a kaleidoscope of products such as olive oil, cheese, herbs and greens, citrus fruits and tsikoudia. In the wider area there are excellent wineries, olive mills, cheese and local beer factories. Don’t miss to taste unique quality dishes of the Cretan gastronomy such as Kalitsounia, Bureki, Snails, Staka and local meat in the surrounding taverns.
