The Location

Just 500 meters away you can reach an 800 meter beach (Cretan Sea) suitable for swimming, as well as organized beaches with facilities for water sports, paragliding, and extreme sports. Towards the west side you have the opportunity to visit three of the most beautiful and unique beaches of Chania and the Mediterranean such as Falasarna, Balos and Elafonisi (15-50km away).

Platanias

The town of Platanias is a busy touristic destination that offers the visitor everything they need for their vacation. It is especially popular for its long, organized beach, the variety of restaurants and bars and the vivid nightlife. The old village, Upper Platanias, is built on a hill overlooking the sea and has points of cultural and historical interest dating from the Late Minoan period up to World War II.

Chania

Falasarna

The beach that is now among the most famous in Europe. Because of its exceptional natural beauty, it has been included in the Natura 2000 protection network. It is long and spacious with white sand and crystal clear waters. Falasarna is divided into smaller beaches interspersed with rocks. The most famous is Pachia Ammos which is organized with sunbeds, beach bars and water sports. If you stay until late afternoon get ready to enjoy a magical sunset and possibly join a beach party that lasts until late at night.

Samaria Gorge

The most famous hiking gorge in Europe that welcomes thousands of visitors every year. The Samaria Gorge is part of the European path E4 and its length is 15km from Omalos to Agia Roumeli. Inside the gorge you will have the opportunity to wander in the deserted village of Samaria which was completely abandoned in 1962. The spectacular nature and landscapes will take your breath away. You will see unique protected species of plants and animals, among them the rare species of wild goat kri-kri that belong to the gorge’s rich flora and fauna. Witness the history of Crete on the most walked trail in all of Greece.
