In a place full of legends stemming from the historical path of the place and its people, in a magical environment, flooded with light, pictures and colors of the Cretan land, stands the mansion oNdathaKi piRgos” of the Georgilas family.
In this place, where we come from, in a building sculpted by the labor of four generations, our great-grandfather, Constantis Georgilas, settled in Pirgos Psilonerou in 1835. He was a merchant and cosmopolitan and he bought this metohi (property that belongs to a monastery) from the Turkish aga (1861) and built the house in 1888.
A house that preserves the imperfections of the past, with touches of the present that undoubtedly travel back in time to every visitor.

The house was built with stones from the surrounding area and was used as the family’s residence. It had storage areas for oil, wine and other products the so-called ‘stores’, an olive press the so-called ‘factory’, and the stable for the animals. Above the house there were terraces with bedrooms, a large ‘onda’ and a small house for the loom. In the yard there were the stone mills and the wine press. From the rooftop, the grandparents witnessed the “Battle of Maleme” with horror in their eyes and in the courtyard they heard the intense footsteps and voices of the German soldiers.
In 1961, a century later, the eastern part of the house, the small ‘onda’ became the country residence of the Georgilas family by our grandfather, Kostis. The grandfather never forgot his roots. He preserved and expanded the paternal property offering his family unforgettable moments of summer carefreeness and joy.
Later, in 2012, the entire house was restored by my father Nikos and my mother Ritsa who revealed the characteristics of the original building with passion and a unique aesthetic that highlights the original form.
Today, from 2018-2019, I, Konstantinos Georgilas, continue to highlight the unparalleled aesthetics with respect to the history of the place, our ancestors and our home. Representing another philosophy, with the quality of the Cretan hospitality, the knowledge and the art to ensure guests a journey in nature, history, tradition and offer them well-being relaxation and bliss.
